Waste has a value - Ghana is a clean Country but there are areas needing more clearing of waste and this waste has value. This has been a four year development programme of PSECC Ltd have been advisors to the Government and discussions & negotiations underway with a Strategic Waste Management company in Ghana for a Joint Venture for Ten WTE Gasification & Recycling plants that can be built in Accra & Kumasi over a two year period, fully funded - $950 million.
The Government, the Strategic Waste Management company and Alset Power Company Inc will partly own each plant and see much needed extra revenues going back into the Ministry of Sanitation & Water Resources.
PSECC Ltd have been involved with this Knowledge Transfer and have now brought in Alset Power Company Inc from the USA for Gasification and funding abilities and they are now being considered for the Joint Venture with a Strategic Waste Management Company partner.
This proven Gasification technology processes the MSW from the Cities, Towns & Villages together with Landfill sites and the MSW goes into the gasification system. We also provide all the infrastructure requirements of Trucks & Rickshaws, Bins and containers.
The Gasification plants Recycle 100% of metal, glass and Ceramics is possible and using the plastic in energy recovery to increase Ghana's Green Energy. The Energy recovery technology is Gasification there is low air pollution and NO ground water contamination & ZERO to Landfill.
This Gasification technology has received the highest rating from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the USA for the lowest and the cleanest process for electricity generation system for MSW treatment, cost effective, sustainable, proven technology and comes with full Bilateral US EXIMBANK funding, IMF Exempt. Alset Power become the Debtor for the project and not the Government
1.299 Million MWh of Renewable electricity generation per year from all ten plants
Job creation - 2,400 jobs for the Ten plants - many jobs will be for woman as well as men in Ghana.
We hope our new partner will support this project.
The Gasification in general results in Syngas production for energy generation and processing all the plastic and rubber from tyres & MSW.
Because of the need for more Green electricity in Ghana it is better to use this plastic in energy generation in our plants to increase Renewable Energy Targets for Ghana as part of the Countries International Obligations on Climate Change Mitigation & the Paris Agreement.
In general all Gasification END products from this process are Syngas for electricity production, ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals typically15 to 20 tonnes per day from each plant, which are then recycled together with 15 to 20 tonnes of glass, ceramics and ash.
The glass and ceramics are often then ground and added to concrete along with the ash for the production of concrete blocks, NOTHING remains for landfill – ZERO
100% Reuse & Recycling
PPA - Power Purchase Agreements & Landfill tax/ Polluter Pays principal will pay for the plants
Very Clean, efficient process - Gasification in general can be 45% more efficient than Incineration and 50% less cost.
This project will make Ghana even more cleaner
Clearing the landfill sites and enhance the Duty-of-Care of people near the sites
(Less water pollution & toxic fumes)
Some Beach areas have waste problems - we will clear them
Water becomes cleaner
